Hey Guys! Today I thought I would do a foundation review for you since I went to Sephora and picked up some new make up. I have three foundations to review for you and I'll tell you my honest opinion on each, lasting power with and without primer, price and so forth. Here goes!
MAKE UP FOREVER PROFESSIONAL HD High Definition Foundation
So this overall was my favourite foundation out of the three. At 43.99 a bottle it may seem like an absolute rip-off but honestly it was completley worth it! I'm in the shade N125 which is light/medium. The finish of this foundation is absolutley flawless! I use the MAKE UP FOREVER PROFESSIONAL HD Primer in no.5 which eliminates slight redness and is made for fair skin. It stays on all day with primer and for up to 6 hours without. I have oily/normal skin combination and this foundation works a treat! I finish it all off by using the MAKE UP FOREVER PROFESSIONAL HD Powder which I absolutley love. It is clear when you apply it on the skin which means it can be used by all skin types. The MAKE UP FOREVER collection is huge and they have so much to offer their customers. I know it is pricey for a foundation but if you feel like splashing out and treating yourself I would highly recommend this foundation!
MAC PRO LONGWEAR SPF 10 FOUNDATION
I have been a huge fan of MAC for quite a while now but out of all the foundations they have to offer this is the only one that I'm personally a fan of. My skin is in the shade NW20. If you have skin like mine (oily/normal), I wouldn't recommend wearing this foundation without a primer. I purchased mine going through Duty Free at Dublin Airport and it cost 23.99 which is not bad compared to the other two foundations. With a primer this foundation will last you most of the day but without, for me personally, it lasted 4/5 hours. I do really like the finish of this foundation and it does do a good job covering up blemishes and redness and giving you a good canvas to work on but it does not equal up to the standards of the MAKE UP FOREVER foundation. With each foundation I use the same powder and primer, which I highly recommend buying. I enjoyed wearing this foundation and would recommend it to others as long as they use a good powder and primer with it!
NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION
I personally am a huge fan of NARS make-up, swearing by their blushers and bronzers, but in all honesty this foundation came as a huge disappointment to me. I bought this foudation for 48.99 in Sephora in the shade MEDIUM1. I first applied my primer and let it set and then placed the foundation. This is the only foundation out of the three without a pump applicator so you have to pour this onto the back of your hand to apply it which I am not a fan of. It applied nicely but after an hour or two even with powder and primer on, it began to smudge and become oily around my nose and t-zone. As the day went on it got worse and worse and by six o'clock my face was an oily mess! I was hugely disappointed in this considering the fact that I had spent nearly fifty euro on this and so many people had raved about it! I would recommend it to people with dry skin though.
