Foundation Review

Hey Guys! Today I thought I would do a foundation review for you since I went to Sephora and picked up some new make up. I have three foundations to review for you and I'll tell you my honest opinion on each, lasting power with and without primer, price and so forth. Here goes!

MAKE UP FOREVER PROFESSIONAL HD High Definition Foundation

So this overall was my favourite foundation out of the three. At 43.99 a bottle it may seem like an absolute rip-off but honestly it was completley worth it! I'm in the shade N125 which is light/medium. The finish of this foundation is absolutley flawless! I use the MAKE UP FOREVER PROFESSIONAL HD Primer in no.5 which eliminates slight redness and is made for fair skin. It stays on all day with primer and for up to 6 hours without. I have oily/normal skin combination and this foundation works a treat! I finish it all off by using the MAKE UP FOREVER PROFESSIONAL HD Powder which I absolutley love. It is clear when you apply it on the skin which means it can be used by all skin types. The MAKE UP FOREVER collection is huge and they have so much to offer their customers. I know it is pricey for a foundation but if you feel like splashing out and treating yourself I would highly recommend this foundation!

MAC PRO LONGWEAR SPF 10 FOUNDATION

I have been a huge fan of MAC for quite a while now but out of all the foundations they have to offer this is the only one that I'm personally a fan of. My skin is in the shade NW20. If you have skin like mine (oily/normal), I wouldn't recommend wearing this foundation without a primer. I purchased mine going through Duty Free at Dublin Airport and it cost 23.99 which is not bad compared to the other two foundations. With a primer this foundation will last you most of the day but without, for me personally, it lasted 4/5 hours. I do really like the finish of this foundation and it does do a good job covering up blemishes and redness and giving you a good canvas to work on but it does not equal up to the standards of the MAKE UP FOREVER foundation. With each foundation I use the same powder and primer, which I highly recommend buying. I enjoyed wearing this foundation and would recommend it to others as long as they use a good powder and primer with it!

NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION

I personally am a huge fan of NARS make-up, swearing by their blushers and bronzers, but in all honesty this foundation came as a huge disappointment to me. I bought this foudation for 48.99 in Sephora in the shade MEDIUM1. I first applied my primer and let it set and then placed the foundation. This is the only foundation out of the three without a pump applicator so you have to pour this onto the back of your hand to apply it which I am not a fan of. It applied nicely but after an hour or two even with powder and primer on, it began to smudge and become oily around my nose and t-zone. As the day went on it got worse and worse and by six o'clock my face was an oily mess! I was hugely disappointed in this considering the fact that I had spent nearly fifty euro on this and so many people had raved about it! I would recommend it to people with dry skin though.

My Update!

Hello everybody! I am so pathetic, I haven't posted anything since May and I am so sorry to the few people that read my blog about that. So today I thought I would tell you what has happened to me over the past three months! In May I decided to start a YouTube channel but after abuse from some people, my confidence was knocked and I deleted my channel. Thinking back on it I wished I had kept it up so I'm going to start one up again! At the beginning of June, I had huge state exams which made posting blogs extremley difficult between studying and taking the actual exams. Overall I think they went okay but I have to wait till September to get my results so the wait is really worrying! After the exams had finished, myself and my family took a break to Marbella in Spain for two weeks. I made a load of friends over there who I miss a ton but I keep in touch with them through FaceBook and whatnot! Today I gave in and pierced my bellybutton. It was so unbelivabley painful but luckily I had my best friend there. He thought it was funny though and took loads of photos. My face looks ridiculous! I'm praying that nobody ever sees them, I'd be mortified! So to finish this crappy post, If anybody has any videos they would want me to upload please comment below! It means a lot to me if just one person reads these and enjoys them so if you are one of those people thanks a mill!

Studying with my bestfriend, there were no seats in the library so we sat at the kiddies
                                                                    table!

Late night swims!

My favourite YouTube Beauty Guru's

In my spare time, there is nothing I like to do more than relax and watch some beauty videos on YouTube. They put me in such a good mood and two in particular encouraged me to start this blog and without them I would have never had the confidence to start writing. I love most YouTubers but my top five would have to be: Zoella (Zoe), Sprinkleofglitr (Louise), Laurenbeautyy (Lauren), Tanya Burr and Fleurdeforce (Fleur). All these girls are absolutely brilliant in their own way and watching there videos puts me in a great mood. I had wanted to started a blog for a long time before I plucked up the courage to actually start writing this since English and Photography were things I loved. After coming across two particular beautiful ladies, Zoe and Louise, on YouTube one day, I got the confidence to start my own blog after seeing that so many people had an interest in fashion and beauty related topics, which is what I had wanted to base my blog on. I would highly recommend checking out these girls, you'll regret it if you don't!

Topshop Lipstick Review

If you haven't guessed yet, I'm just a tincy bit obsessed with Topshop make-up. Just a smidge not much.....
I popped into Topshop yet again and picked up some new lipsticks. I am officaly in love. Forget all the high-end lipsticks, Topshop is the way to go. These lipsticks are so pigmented and they last a really long time. When going to wash off, they don't make removing them difficult and all over they are just an absolute dream. They feel amazing on your lips and they don't make them feel tight, but moisturised. The shades I picked up were 'Tease' and 'Beguiled'. I was going for something a little diffrent from my everyday red and I saw these as the perfect choice. After picking these colors up, I'm going to pop in yet again next weekend and pick up an orange shade and a hot-pink which should be interesting to see how they turn out. I highly recommend these lipsticks, actually I highly recommend the whole Topshop make-up range. I might not be a huge fan of the brushes but the beauty products themselves are just to die for!

Getting Fit for Summer!

So recently I decided I would try and tone up for Summer since I'm going to Marbella for three weeks in July. I cracked out the dusty Adidas runners from the back of my wardrobe and called up my best friend and we went on a run in the Phoenix Park. To say it knocked the wind out of me would be an understatement! It made me realise how unfit I actually am. So I woke up this morning and downloaded a bunch of apps from Nike onto my phone and went on another run. I also started the 'Squat Challenge' which is so difficult. My thighs are in agony! My goal is not to lose weight but to just tone up my stomach and to do that you need to put the effort in! There is no point complaining about your body and doing nothing about it. Just slip on your runners, grab your earphones and go on a jog! Call a friend to go with you if you don't want to go on your own. You feel amazing afterwards as well so that's an even bigger bonus as well as getting in shape.

Topshop Nail Polishes

From L to R: 'Beach Shack', 'Mannequin', 'Hidden Treasure', 'War Paint'.

Last week, I was in London and I made a cheeky stop into Topshop on Oxford Street. Anybody that has ever been in there and is a fashion and beauty nut (like me!) would have been in absolute awe! The nail polishe collection was unbelivable. I wish I had gotten a picture for you. While I was there, I picked up four new polishes since there was an offer of two for £8. After much debating, I picked up my four favourite shades. From left to right: 'Beach Shack', 'Mannequin', 'Hidden Treasure' and 'War Paint'. To say I'm a fan of these nail polishes would be an understatement. These shades are so unbelivably pigmented and the range of colours you can get from the Topshop collection is amazing. My favourite out of thesefour would be 'Beach Shack' as it is such a nice shade for the Spring/Summer season. When a top-coat is applied onto these polishes, they look perfect. The extra shine honestly makes them look like they were painted in a salon! I would hugely recommend going in and picking up these polishes, especially while the two for £8 offer is on, because you would honestly regret not going in and getting these. I'm definitely popping into Topshop at the weekend to pick up some new shades which I will also review for you guys!

If you hadn't noticed I got a new camera! It is the Canon EOS 450d, incase you were wondering. I'm still getting used to it so bear with me until I know how to use it!

London

It was my birthday on Thursday and as my present I got to fly over to Bristol to visit my family and then go into London on the train for the first time! I had an absolutely amazing time and I even got to meet Lauren Pope off The Only Way Is Essex! Me and my cousin, Lauren , went shopping on Oxford Street, Regent Street and New Bond Street. We got to go to places such as Selfridges, Topshop, Victorias Secret and The Nike Store. Hands down my favourite shop was Abercrombie. The boys in there were ridiculously good looking as you'll see in the pictures! I'm going back to Bristol over Summer since its such an amazing place and I met some really nice people!

Ghana

Since a young age, something I've always wanted to do has been orphanage work! I was always that one person in a group who was into doing stuff like that and this year I decided to look into it. I was lucky enough to stumble across a charity group called IVHQ. They are a group, located in New Zealand who help in under privileged areas by sending out hundreds of volunteers each year. I decided I would apply to help in a children's orphanage near Accra, Ghana. I waited anxiously for an e-mail to arrive and after two days I received a reply. I had been accepted for a six week volunteer programme to work with children between the ages of three and sixteen. I am so happy that I've decided to do this and IVHQ have been great with helping me prepare for the trip and it is honestly one of the best decisions I could have ever made! If you are looking to volunteer overseas I would really recommend checking out IVHQ! They are brilliant! I cannot wait to go and start in the orphanage. As I've said before its good to say yes for a change!

My little diary...

Everyone wants to keep a diary, right? After seeing those films as a child where the girl keeps a really nice diary and writes in it all the time, I think it's something every girl wants to do at some point. This year as a resolution, I decided to start a diary. I would fill it with thoughts and drawings, memories and goals and whatever other random and cheesy stuff would pop into my head! I went into A Wear and picked up a cheap diary with a quote on the front: "Every morning tell yourself you are getting better and better." I thought that this was a good quote to have throughout the year and it is honestly a quote I live by. I surprisingly have kept up writing in my diary and its such a good way of remembering special events or sticking in little memories such as concert tickets or pictures. I have to say, never imagined I would hear myself say this, I love my diary!

Saying Yes For A Change :)

Anybody that knows me, would know that at most opportunities I say no and will then regret it, such as travelling and meeting new people. It's something that makes me nervous and I'm the kind of girl who sticks to what she knows and likes and doesn't like change. Tonight myself and my best friend went to a concert. I was never a fan of the band and under normal circumstances I usually would have said no to going as it was in a place I wasn't familiar with and so forth. As I said I stick to what I like and know. Surprisingly I said yes to going and ended up really enjoying myself (even if I didn't know the words to ANY of the songs that were sung!) After today I learned to say yes to more things as it can be exciting to experience something different. It's not good to say yes to everything of course, but to do something out of your normal comfort zone can be exciting at times (as long as it's not against the law!) and I have to say I'm really happy I chose to go!

My everyday make-up :)

Since this is a blog about fashion, make-up, randomness and what not I thought I would show you my everyday make-up! It's mostly drug-store products but it ends up as something I really like! I have a usual routine that I get into and I sometimes switch it up depending on the time of year and now that we are in Spring (well supposed to be!) it tends to be quite light makeup. The make-up I currently use on a daily basis would be:

Naked palette (Naked and Sin) & Naked palette 2 (Bootycall and Foxy)
     Benefit 'That Gal' brightening primer.
     Rimmel London Scandaleyes mascara
Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation in Light Porcelain
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Punch Bowl
Bobby Brown Concealer in Warm Ivory
Rimmel London Match Perfection Blush in Light

I hope you liked this little piece to do with my make-up on a daily basis. Instead of Soap & Glory lipgloss, I sometimes wear Rimmel London Kate Lipstick in Shade 01 if I'm going for a darker look.

Random questions about me :)

Since I only recently started my blog, I thought it would be fun to answer some questions about me ,so if you read my blog, you can get to know me a little better :)

                                              What are your phobias?
   Well I have 4 main phobia's which are: Moth's, Spider's ,mice and wasp's. They
                                                absolutley terrify me!

                                            Do you have any siblings?
I do actually. I have 2 younger brother's who are twins. They are 12.

                                                      Dress size?
I'm loads of diffrent sizes for some reason! In some shop's I'm an 8 in other's a
                               10 and rarely I'm a 6. Confusing I know!

                                                        Any pet's?
I have a dog called Daisy. I've had tons of other pets like budgie's,hamster and
goldfish but they all died :(  Natural causes of course!

                                               Where are you from?

                                                      Worst make-up buy?
WellI have 2 that instantly come to mind. The first would be Balmi lip balm. I bought it because it smelt nice and looked cool but it does nothing for your lips and it builds up, making your lips look clumpy. The other would be the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. It is so oily on my skin and after about an hour it looks swirly
and sweaty on my face. Ewww!

                                                    Favourite clothing store?

I do indeed! I have 5 in total and they are all on my ears.I wouldn't get a
                                              piercing anywhere else!

Hmmmm...

Im off to London for the first time in a few days for my birthday so I decided to look online to see if there was anything I might have wanted to buy when I was there. I went onto topshop.com and found THE most amazing jacket I've ever seen! Now I'm debating on whether to buy it or not! It's so unbelivably beautiful but I don't know how often I would wear it. Hmmmmm......

Food...

For some reason, I've always had such an obsession with Starbucks. Ever since I was about 7 years young, I've been head over heels in love with it. The first thing I ever had from there was a caramel cream frappucchino, cream based, no whip on top. From that day on, it became my new love. I had never really liked coffee but recently I began to crave it all the time. A caramel macchiato or a vanilla spice latte are my favourite's! You have to get a venti or its just not the same!
